Stallions Sameer 167/8 in 20 overs (Shivam Tripathi 73, Himanshu Sharma 2/33, Rohan Rawat 2/35) beat Sparkle XI 162/8 in 20 overs (Himanshu Sharma 64, Prateek Bhardwaj 3/22, Sameer 2/15) by 5 runs.
Sparkle XI had to chase down a decent target of 168 runs in 120 balls. Openers Asif Ali and Amrik Singh were going good before the latter got dismissed off the bowling of Prateek Bhardwaj in the fourth over. Then, what followed was simply a disaster for the chasing side. They lost three more wickets in quick session and now the onus came upon the shoulders of two Himanshus (Sharma and Virmani), they didn't disappoint at all and added brilliant 98 runs for the fifth wicket. After 16 overs, Sparkle XI were 143/5 and needed another 25 runs with four overs to go. But, Sameer and Prateek had other plans for them, they not only dismissed the two set batsmen but also ripped off the tale in a few minutes. And as a result, Stallions Sameer managed to get over the line and won the game by five runs. Prateek Bhardwaj grabbed three wickets while Sameer picked up a couple of wickets to his name.
Earlier, Stallion Sameer won the toss and had no hesitation in batting first. They started steadily but soon lost two wickets in the fourth over itself. Then, they had a small partnership of 42 runs followed by a 45 run stand between Money Grewal and Shivam Tripathi for the fourth wicket. Sparkle XI bowlers were able to control the batsmen and struck eight wickets as well but they couldn't get rid of Shivam Tripathi who played an awesome innings of 73 runs in forty deliveries in which he hit six boundaries and five maximums. It was the innings of Shivam that took Stallions Sameer to a formidable total that later proved to be a match-winning one. From the bowling side, Chetan Anand, Rohan Rawat and Himanshu Sharma picked up two wickets each. So that's it from this side, goodbye and cheers!
