Ipswich Indians 121/8 in 19.2 overs (Jaspreet Singh 41, Durga Prasad 4/24,) beat Yellow Yorkers bb 118/6 in 20.0 overs (Raj Gurram 38, Phaneendra 3/24) by 2 wickets.
Having lost the toss, the Ipswich Indians were made to field first. It was a dream start by the opener bowlers getting two wickets in the first two overs of the match. Tight bowling from the bowlers made it tough for the batsmen to score quick runs. The Yorkers could only make 57 runs in the first 10 overs. Then 4 quick wickets by the Ipswich Indians meant that the opponents were reduced to 118/6 in their 20 overs. The star of Ipswich Indians bowling innings was Durga Prasad who finished with figures of 4/24 in his 4 overs. Raj Gurram top scored for the Yellow Yorkers with a steady 38 off 37 balls. His innings included 5 fours and 1 six.
For the chasing side, Durga Prasad and Subbu puppala came out to start the proceedings. They had to score 119 at a rate of just below 6 runs per over. The opening bowlers did exceptionally well to pull the Yorkers back into the game by taking 4 quick wickets within the first 4 overs and going for only 23 in that phase. What should have been a comfortable chase for the Ipswich Indians was now looking really dire. Just then a 40 run partnership between Abhinay Reddy and Jaspreet steadied the innings for the Ipswich Indians. Abhinay Reddy scored 27 runs off 28 balls. Jaspreet managed to stay till the end to finish it for his side, scoring an exceptional 41 runs when his team needed him the most. Raj Gurram and Sai Vadde were the pick of the bowlers for the Yorkers, who finished with 2/21 and 2/22 respectively.
Durga Prasad Viyyapu was declared the Man of the Match for his match winning bowling performance.
