BSK 121/9 in 17.5 overs (Happy Mehan 27, Alex Jacques 25, 5/34) beat the Warriors 118/9 in 20.0 overs (David Subin 31, Elvin Abraham 23, Jis Sebastian 3/2) by 1 wicket. What a nail biting finish at C.J. Greenfield park ! The match went right up to the end just to be taken away by BSK at the very last moment. BSK having lost the toss were made to field first. It was a steady start by the opening bowlers. BSK did well to restrict the batsmen to singles and doubles with some good bowling and taking wickets at regular intervals. BSK were really good in their fielding, grabbing a total 5 catches in their bowling innings. Good team work from BSK helped them to restrict their opponents to a total of 118 in their 20 overs. Alex Jacques bowled excellently and finished a figure of 5/34. It was a hot sunny day, with a flat slow wicket, making it hard for the batsmen to connect the ball. Although this didn’t matter when the openers of BSK came into bat. Happy Mehan and Alex Jacques put together a quick 41 run partnership in just 3.5 overs. It was a blitzkrieg kind of an innings from Happy scoring a quick 27 from 13 balls which included 6 boundaries. BSK were in a really good position to win match having scored 74 at the end of the 8th over. But a really good spell from Jis Sebastian who finished 3/2 in his 4 overs reduced BSK to 9/109. With 10 runs still required in 15 balls the pressure was on the batting side. But a couple of boundaries from the cool head Nakul combined with some poor fielding from the opponent made BSK cross the line in a nail-biting finish. Alex Jacques with an all-round performance of 25 and 5/34 was judged the Man of the Match.
