Brisbane Hitters 171/7 in 18.1 overs (Hardeep Singh 84, Hardeep Singh 3/22, Tanbir Basra 2/11) beat Yellow Yorkers bb 93/9 in 13.1 overs (Phaneendra 22, Phaneendra 3/23) by 78 runs.
Having won the toss, the Hitters opted to bat first. It was a dream start by the openers piling up 67 runs in the first 6 overs. After that the Yellow Yorkers did really well to get themselves back in the game taking 3 quick wickets. But a fine performance from the opener Hardeep who scored a quick fire 84 in only mere 35 balls saw the Hitters post a total of 171 in 18.1 overs. The stunning innings from Hardeep included 14 4’s and 2 sixes. The pick among the bowlers were Phaneendra who finished with 3/23, Sai and Rajesh grabbing two wickets each.
For the chasing side, Sai Vadde and Raj Gurram came out to start the proceedings. They had to score 172 at a rate of 8.6 runs per over. But some really good bowling by the Hitters saw the Yellow Yorkers lose wickets at regular intervals. There can’t be a better day for Hardeep having scored 84 in the first innings, ended with a bowling figure of 3/22. Some really disciplined bowling by the Hitters saw them bowl out the Yellow Yorkers for 93 runs.
Hardeep Singh Wariach was declared the Man of the Match for his all-round performance.
