SKD All Stars 277/4 in 20 overs (Jigme Singye 156*, Mikyo Dorji 49, Sangay Lama 1/34) beat Youth XI CC 104/9 in 20 overs (Deepak Kumar Verma 59, Ugyen Tshering 3/19, Jigme Singye 2/1) by 173 runs.
This contest absolutely belongs to only one man and his name is Jigme Singye. He broke almost every record in the books. As he went into bat, the score SKD All Stars was 10/2 after two overs. He came in and started hitting the cherry out of the park, it seemed like he was already batting inside the pavillion for an hour. His innings contained a total of 27 boundaries (16 fours, 11 sixes) out of the 57 deliveries he faced. In fact, he and Mikyo Dorji had a brilliant partnership of 150 runs for the fourth wicket. Unlucky Mikyo Dorji fell short of his half century by a run. But he played his part to support Jigme Singye. Jigme Singye continued his hard hitting and didn't stop till the innings were concluded. SKD All Stars reached the 200 mark in the sixteenth over itself, and at the end of 20 overs they were 277/4. Jigme Singye remained unbeaten on gigantic score of 156, striking at the rate of 273.68. There were a couple of half centuries from the bowling unit as well, Deepak Kumar Verma and Subash Lama flooded 65 and 50 runs respectively in their quota of four overs.
As Youth XI CC came out to commence the chase, they had a marathon task to perform. But, on the contrary, they didn't seem in the chase at any point of time. Their openers didn't show any intent, they failed in reaching even a respectable total. But that doesn't mean we don't give credit to SKD All Stars' bowling. Ugyen Tshering grabbed a 3-fer while Sherab Jamtsho also picked up a couple of wickets. The moment of delight was created when Jigme Singye came out to bowl the penultimate over of the match. I would be wrong if I say it wasn't his day, he gave away just a single and picked up two wickets to his name. In the end, Youth XI CC were able to manage just 104/9 in their 20 overs. Deepak Kumar Verma will wish to forget this day when it comes to his bowling, but he did a decent job in second innings by contributing 59 runs for his team, he smashed three boundaries and six maximums in his 40-ball innings.
The difference between the two sides was unmatchable, we can relate it as Youth XI CC couldn't even match the amount of runs Jigme Singye scored. SKD All Stars absolutely outplayed Youth XI CC. So, that was it from our side, goodbye and cheers!
