13th April, 2021, Aizawl. Legends CC 124 in 32.1 overs (Pc Pachhunga 19, Maran Kalai 2/2, F. Malsawmtluanga 2/11) beat Hunthar CC 116 in 31.2 overs (F. Malsawmtluanga 26, Pradeep Kumar 3/31, Mukesh Kumar Ram 2/8) by 8 runs. After a long season of league stage, we finally arrived at the final stage of Khaled Memorial 2nd Division Screening Tournament. The two teams facing each other were Legends CC and Hunthar CC, the latter were given a small target of 125 runs to chase down in 50 overs but their batting order collapsed and they failed to achieve the target. Hunthar CC kept losing wickets at regular intervals and at no point of stage they looked comfortable. The whole bowling unit of Legends CC bowled their heart out as they knew, they were defending a small total. There were as many as four ducks in the second innings, F. Malsawmtluanga was the top scorer with 26. Pradeep Kumar picked up three wickets while Karan Chhetry, Raj Kumar Thakur and Mukesh Kumar Ram grabbed two wickets each. They beautifully defended 124 runs and won the trophy. It was Hunthar CC who won the toss and elected to field first. They even bowled excellently to dismiss Legends CC on a mere score of 124. Only three players from the batting side were able to reach the double-figure mark. Pc Pachhunga with a score of 19 was the top scorer in the first innings. From the bowling side, F. Malsawmtluanga, Vanneitluanga, Moses Ramhlunmawia and Maran Kalai picked up a couple of wickets each. Talking about season's statistics, Praveen from Gorkha Rising CC was the top run-getter with 331 runs in 7 innings while Pradeep Kumar took as many as 39 wickets in just 8 innings. One can say it was a bowlers' final in the end, 20 wickets for just 240 runs in a fifty-over game.
