3rd January, 2020, Ahmedabad.
SVCC(ACCTC) 280/4 in 20 overs (Tarang Chhatrola 196*, Mittal Patel 26, Kaival 2/21) beat Emerging Warriors 95/8 in 20 overs (Vedant Raval 22, Ishir Shah 2/7, Mittal Patel 2/19) by 185 runs.
The first match of Vivekanand Premier League started with a bang with the huge score of 280 runs in just 20 overs. Tarang Chhatrola, one of the openers of SVCC came absolutely sensational and went on to score almost a double century in a 20 over game. Had he face one more delivery, he certainly would have got to the remarkable 200 mark. He played a marathon innings of 196* in which he smashed as many as 20 sixes with 13 fours to add. He faced just 69 deliveries for his 196*, strike rate reading 284.06. From the Emerging Warriors, Kaival bowled brilliantly for his 2/21 in four overs while Heer Patel was the most expensive bowler with figures of 0/76 with an economy of 19. Kalrav Patel also grabbed a couple of wickets.

Emerging Warriors had to chase down a mammoth total of 281 runs with a required run-rate of 14.05 runs per over. But as the chase kicked off, they were bundled like a pack of cards. They kept loosing wickets at regular intervals, in fact they lost their three wickets inside the powerplay itself. SVCC used as many as 8 bowling options and each of them did well to restrict the batting side. Only three of Emerging Warriors' batsmen were able to reach the double figure mark. Ishir Shah and Mittal Patel grabbed two wickets each while Harit, Samarth, Chintan and Vivek also picked up a wicket each to their name. In the end, Emerging Warriors couldn't even manage to get the 100 run mark and were 95/8 at the end of 20 overs, losing the game by a huge margin of 185 runs.
Today, SVCC and Tarang Chhatrola not only won the match, they have also sent a message to the other teams how lethal they will be in the upcoming days. Abhishek Desai will have to keep this momentum going in order to emerge victorious in the upcoming games. On the other side, Emerging Warriors have to ponder upon their disheartening performance. That's it from my side, I Anurag, will take your leave, goodbye and cheers!
