In the final of Classic Boy Premiere League, KIOC were given a formidable target of 174 runs in 30 overs. Harshil Dharmani and Ujwal S Gowda came out in the centre to open the innings for the chasing side. They needed a solid start from the openers, but against the tough bowling of U16 MCA, KIOC were just able to manage 113 runs. Skipper Shivam was the top scorer with 32 runs, while all the other batsmen went under 20. The fine bowling performance from Shikhar Shetty, Mohnish A Bharadwaj and Saideep Hj helped the defending side restrict 173 runs with ease. Saideep's five wicket haul absolutely demolished KIOC line-up, while Mohnish and Shikhar also went on to struck important breakthroughs. In the end, U16 MCA won the game by 60 runs.
U16 MCA won the toss and elected to bat first. They were cautious right from the outset as the opening pair added 63 runs for the first wicket. In fact, Viraj Haveri went on to score a fifty with seven boundaries and a six. Though, there was no major contribution from the other batsmen, but their small contributions helped U16 MCA to reach a formidable total of 173 runs. From the bowling side, Shridhar Jagatap bowled really well to grab three wickets. Sachin Sa and Anish Kn also picked up a wicket each.
Talking about the overall tournament stats, Harshil Dharmani was the top run-getter with just three less than 600 runs, averaging at an incredible 74.63. Below him was Kairav Reddy who scored 484 runs in just six innings at an average of 96.80. In the wickets column, Saideep H J picked up 17 wickets in 10 innings, while Shikhar Shetty scalped 15 wickets in same number of innings.
