Zeytinburnu Zafer S.K. (Erkek) (129/8 in 20 overs Cagri Bayraktar 60, Ishak Elec 35, Zohaib Iqbal 2/20) beat Istanbul Il Karmasii 129/9 in 20 overs (Mohammad Ismael 65, Mecit Ozturk 4/16, Ishak Elec 2/24) in super over.
The final match was played between Zeytinburnu Zafer and Istanbul Il, it was a thriller of a game which ended with a super over. Zeytinburnu Zafer had to chase down a small target of 130 runs in the 20 overs, but Istanbul Il Karmasii bowlers displayed a disciplined bowling show to restrict them on 129. Zeytinburnu Zafer needed just four runs on their last six balls and the onus of bowling the last over was given to Ismet Turkmen who was a bit expensive in his first three overs. This time he bowled well to give away just three runs and eventually Zeytinburnu Zafer fell short by a run. From the batting side, Bayraktar was the top scorer with 60 runs off 40 deliveries. Zohaib Iqbal and Ismet Turkmen picked up a couple of wickets each while Ali Turkmen, Ismael and Iliyas Ataullah grabbed a wicket each to their names. Zeytinburnu Zafer were just better over Istanbul Il Karamasii and snatched a win in the super over.
Earlier, Istanbul Il Karamasii won the toss and had no hesitation in batting first in the high pressure game. But their start was not as good as they would have expected. By the fourth over, their three batsmen were already inside the pavillion and by the end of eight overs half of the Istanbul Karamasii's side was in pavillion. Ozturk bowled excellently to dismiss the top order of the batting side, his figures read 4-0-16-4. Ishak Elec also grabbed two scalps after conceding 24 runs in his three overs. In the batting line-up, only three batsmen were able to reach the double-figure mark with Mohammad Ismael being the top-scorer at 65(47). Istanbul Karamasii lost wickets at regular intervals and could only manage a tiny total of 129 runs in their 20 overs.
Today, Zeytinburnu Zafer's players showed their skills under pressure, though the margin was very less but they held their nerves in the crucial stage. Zeytinburnu Zafer's Ishak Elec was the highest run-getter in the tournament with 134 runs at 44.67 while his team mate Mecit Ozturk was the leading wicket-taker with as many as 16 wickets to his name at an excellent average of 3.75. The combined team performance helped Zeytinburnu Zafer to stay unbeaten throughout the tournament and finally lift the trophy.
