Unfortunately there could not be any game on the day of final due to wet outfield and the winner had to be decided on the basis of their position in the points tally. The finals was supposed to be played between Scorpions and The Royal Varsani. Congratulations to the Scorpions who displayed excellent performances in the league stage and eventually became the champions of the UEL.

Talking about the journey of Scorpions, they didn't started their campaign on a winning note, but they came back strongly in the middle course of league stage where they won their four games on the trott. At a very crucial stage of the tournament, Scorpions unit showed the real character. There were some brilliant indivisual performances from the players but the most valuable player from the pool was Wasim Butt who went on to score as many as 212 runs in 6 innings, he was also awarded with 50k Voucher from Meat One and two Nights Stay at Simba Eco Lodge. Apart from him, Siraje Nsubuga, Stephen Wambwose and Jonathan Kiiza were also awarded with the same for best bowler, best wicket-keeper and best fielder respectively. Sirae Nsubuga scalped 9 wickets in 6 innings with an economy of just 4.33.

It was a well-organised series with lots of ups and downs between the trio. There was a good contest between the three teams in the points table, the quality of cricket this short tournament has produced, we wish to see more and more exciting contests in the upcoming future. And with it, I can surely say that Uganda Elite League is the future of Uganda Cricket.
