UK Rising Stars Club Fbd. 130 in 19.3 overs (Shubham Joshi 36, Mukul Kasana 34, PS Rautela 3/13) beat Uttarakhand Gharwal XI 120 in 17.5 overs (Mishra 49, Krishan 2/5, Vijay Solanki 2/31) by 10 runs.
Chasing 131 in 20 overs was not going to be a tough task for the Uttarakhand Gharwal XI but they made a mess of it towards the end of their innings. As the 2nd innings commenced, Gharwal lost their first wicket in the third over. Mishra played well for his 49 runs which contained four boundaries and four maximums. After 11 overs, the score was 84/3, then things unfolded drastically for the chasing side and at last they kept losing wickets. Some quality bowling performances from the bowling unit of UK Rising Club helped them to restrict Gharwal for a score of 120. Apart from Mishra, no one was really able to make an impact, captain Pradeep Bora was the second highest run-getter who contributed 15 runs. From the UK Rising Stars' side, Solanki, Joshi, Rawat, Pant and Krishan were among the wickets. Krishan and Solanki took a couple of wickets each while others struck a wicket each. Uttarakhand Gharwals lost second half of their side for just seven runs.
Earlier Rising Stars won the toss and elected to bat fisrt. They did not had a great start as they lost Amit Gaur and Amit Pal early in the innings. The first innings saw two good partnerships of 54 and 47 runs for the third wicket and ninth wicket respectively. There was a batting collapse in between when Rising Stars lost six wickets in a span of 18 runs between 10th and 14th over. Apart from Kasana(34) and Joshi(36), all the other batsmen went without contributing much, Raman and Mamgain were the only other batsmen to reach the double-figure mark. Kasana and Raman added 54 runs for the third wicket while Joshi and Mamgain had a partnership of 47 runs for the ninth wicket. About the bowling, PS Rautela bowled a fantastic spell of 3/13 in his four overs, Monty bowled his only over at the last of the innings and he also chipped in with two wickets. Mishra was wonderful with his alround show, he picked a couple as well.
This was the first game of Pool B and UK Rising Stars did well to hold their nerves and earn two valuable points. Their NRR is also fair with 0.500. Uttarakhand Gharwal XI need to ponder upon their mistakes and come good in the next game, otherwise it will be too late. That's it from my side, goodbye and cheers!
