Challengers STH 155/6 in 20 overs (Jordi Henry 56*, Langham 35, Knipe 2/21) beat Woodpeckers STH 61 in 13.3 overs (Owen 17, Jordi Henry 2/10, Thomas 2/13) by 94 runs.

The Knockout Tournament resumed here at Jamestown and Woodpeckers totally outplayed the Challengers by defeating them by an enormous margin of 94 runs. Woodpeckers had to chase down a decent total of 155 runs in their 20 overs. For that, they had to start their innings well, on the contrary, their top-order failed badly. In fact, there was no healthy contribution from any of their batsmen. Their top-scorer was Chris Owen who scored 17 runs. Talking about the bowling, Woodpeckers were totally outplayed by the Challengers’ bowling unit. Heat were in tremendous pressure, there was a time when they were 8 for 3 after five overs. Jordi Henry was pick of the bowlers, his figures were 2 for 10, which contained two maidens. Sean-lee Thomas and Jordan Yon also picked up two wickets each. Woodpeckers lost their last six wickets in a span of a dozen runs.

Earlier, Challengers won the toss and opted to bat first. They were quite slow though the first half of their innings as their score was 62 runs for three wickets after 10 overs. Their openers started the innings in a steady manner, but Jordi Henry, with other batsmen took the innings forward to a 150+ total. He added 31 runs with Joey Thomas for the fourth wicket and then 41 runs with Melvyn Henry towards the end. Mevlyn Henry supported him well and they were able to reach 155 runs in their 20 overs, Jordi Henry remained unbeaten on 56(6x4,2x6). From the bowling side, it was a mixed bag kind of performance, Knipe, Benjamin and Ellick bowled well while Tristan Thomas and Bowers were on the expensive side.

Today, we witnessed some classical all-round show from Jordi Henry as he took Challengers to an emphatic win. They have won shown how deep their batting is and how lethal their bowling can be. That's it from my side, this is Anurag taking your leave, cheers!
