Loyal Knights Cricket 116 in 14.5 overs (Jafran Ahmed 36, Ayan Jakaria 3/4, Minhaz Ahmed 3/14) beat Rising Stars Khapur 89/7 in 16 overs (Suyeb 24, Jafran Ahmed 2/21, Fahim 1/15)
Rising Stars had to chase 117 in their 16 overs to lift the Khapur Premier League Trophy but some great bowling from Loyal Knights restricted them to mere 89. There were as many as three maiden overs in 16 overs, Rising Stars bowled really well. They struck with a wicket on the fourth ball of innings, though, Suyeb was batting good but they were losing wickets without scoring much of the runs, 117 was too far. Fahim gave away just 15 runs in his four overs, Jafran's figures were 2/21 in four overs, MR Sani read 1/18, these were the star performers from the defending side.
Rising Stars inivited Loyal Knights to bat first, Knights started their innings with a steady approach, they first set themselves and then capitalized on that. Jafran guide his innings well and he also took calculated risks in the middle overs, he hit four sixes to go with a boundary. Skipper Shakil Ahmed added 19 runs, MR Sani added 10 to the total. About the bowling, it was a mixed bag, Rising Stars gave away 24 extras including 18 wides and two no balls. On the other had, Ayan Jakaria picked up three wickets by giving away just four runs in his two overs, Minhaz Ahmed's figures were 3/14 in 3.5 overs. Mahir Daiyan was very expensive, he gave away 35 runs in his three overs.
Well, KPL 2020 has been very exciting and enthusiastic in terms of performance and involvement of spectators, it was delight to watch that how much a 16-16 over game can offer to witness. We hope it will be as delighting it has been so far, in the next season as well. Till then, goodbye, cheers!
