CSVTU Inter College Cricket Tournament (Zone - III) was organized between 31st Oct.’17 to 5th Nov.’17.
Out of 12 participant teams, the final was played between GEC Raipur and REC Raipur on 5th Nov.’17 at SSIPMT Cricket Ground, Raipur.
REC Raipur won the toss and elected to field. Proving their decision right, they restricted GEC Raipur from scoring freely. GEC Raipur started to lose wickets from the early overs. Mahesh Rai from REC Raipur bowled extremely well as he took 4 wickets in 3 overs. Highest scorer was Prince Kushwaha (NEMO), who scored 24 runs in 7 balls by hitting 3 fours and 2 sixes. Team bundled up scoring 103 runs in 18.3 overs after losing all wickets.
While replying, REC Raipur started well with both the opening batsmen scoring at a steady pace. Team played a good innings and chased down the target in 17.5 overs. Highest scorers were Akash Choudhary and Mahesh Rai with 30 and 33 runs respectively. Bowling highlight of the innings was Lokendra Vyas from GEC Raipur, who took 3 wickets and 4 overs by giving 13 runs.
REC Raipur won the final by 5 wickets against GEC Raipur.
Player of the match was Mahesh Rai from REC Raipur.
