MB Cricket Club - Bahraich 109/2 in 11 overs (Arvind Kumar 53*, Shahbaz Khan 24, Ravi Banaras 1/6) defeated KBF Intiyathok 103 in 16 overs (Mohd. Asif 27, Dharmendra Gayle 4/9, Vikash Yadav 3/18) by 8 wickets.
The play started in the afternoon and KBF Intiyathok won the toss and elected to bat first. But they were only able to manage a total of 103. Arvind Kumar the sixer king of the finals completed the remaining formalities and went on to score 53* off 28 deiveries which included eight maximums. He was well supported by Shahbaz Khan and Ramesh who also chipped in with 20 odd runs each. Ravi and Naveen were the only wicket takers from the Intiyakhot, else Vikrant was very expensive and conceded 50 runs in his four overs. In fact he was hit for four sixes in the last over by Kumar which also concluded the game for team Bahraich.
Earlier Intiyakhot suffered batting collapse when they were bowled out for 103 in the 11th over itself. Ranjeet and Raghuvendra started on a slower side, but as soon as they decided to change gears, MBCC - Bahraich counter attacked with wickets. They didn't gave any chance to the batting team to settle, Intiyakhot lost their last 10 wickets inside 72 runs. This humdrum show of batting from the Intiyakhot left nothing for their bowlers in a much anticipated final. Keeping aside the poor batting show, we can't take away the credit from the team Bahraich's bowlers who did not gave away their patience after a short opening stand between Asif and Ranjeet was built. D Gayle and Teetu shared 7 wickets among them and threatened the batting side with their disciplined bowling.
After all, it has been a great and exciting week so far and all the 12 teams entertained us with some quality cricket. We saw a mix of high scoring games and low scoring games, with some really good performances to remember as well. Balrampur Premier League has certainly given us memories to cherish. A heartly congratulations to the MB Cricket Club - Bahraich, the truly deserving champions. Hope we witness some excitement in the next season too. Until then, good bye.
