Game Swingers 87/3 in 7 overs (P Sonone 57*, Nagarkar 13*, Raghuram 1/1) defeated Siv Sena 2.0 85 in 7 overs (Sivasudhakar 65*, Raghuram 16*, Nagarkar 0/9) by 7 wickets.
Chasing 87 to register the trophy, Prasad Sonone gave an absolute start that the Swingers demanded. Yes there was a hiccup in between the innings when Supriya Raj played too many dot balls, but it was the Game Swingers' Sonone who remained on the crease to get his team over the line. But the main highlight of the match was Nagarkar's heroic six off the last ball. Swingers needed 5 runs off the last ball of the tournament. He used his long handle really well to send the ball over long-on. Apart from Raghuram's over where he conceded just a single, no one was able to apply brakes on the run-rate.
As the Siv Sena 2.0 won the toss, they elected to put runs on board and defend. The openers did the job for the team by boarding 85 on the board. Sivasudhakar smashed as many as 7 maximums in his knock of 65. Raghuram was slow through his innings as he was given the role of just rotating the strike. P Sonone, the Swingers' alrounder delivered as per his reputations and conceded just 10 runs in his two. The target was good and all well, but was not enough.
Some incredible performances, talented players and with both the genders representing, it was a treat-tournament for cricket lovers. S-7s are an entertaining source of delight and DBS Digi Premier League is certainly its witness.
