Babugarh Cantt Cricket Club 239/9 in 30 overs (Devendra Rahi 73, Prashant Chaudhary 46), won the final by 25 runs against Chaudhary X1 214/9 (Nicks Saini 54, Ravi Singh 34)
The much celebrated HCL 2019 concluded on 31st Oct.’19 with an interesting final played between the strongest teams of the tournament- Babugarh Cantt Cricket Club and Chaudhary X1. Both teams have performed extremely well throughout the tournament and won with good margins to reach out to the top.
The toss went in favour of Choudhary X1 as they elected to field first. Babugarh Cantt Cricket Club started with a very strong batting line up with most of the players contributing well in putting up a big target to chase in the final encounter. Prashant Chaudhary, who came to bat on 3rd position gave much needed boost and continued to add on high pace by hitting 46 runs in 50 balls with some audacious strokes.
However, Devendra Rahi’s innings stood out as he smashed 73 runs in just 43 balls shooting the run flow really high. Choudhary X1 bowlers found some success towards the end as they managed to pick a few quick wickets in last overs of the innings. Though, with most of the players performing well, Babugarh Cantt Cricket Club managed to put up a good target of 239/9.
Choudhary X1 failed to impress with a good start as team lost both opening batsmen Antariksha Chaudhary and Faisal Ansari within 6 overs. However, the team hoped to get the hold when Nicks Saini steadily added 58 runs in 63 balls with 8 boundaries and 1 six. But the opponent bowlers managed to steal wickets at regular intervals resulted in the slow pace. Devendra Rahi shone again picking 2 important wickets in 6 overs. Despite giving a good fight till the last over, Choudhary X1 fell short of 25 runs and ended up at the score of 214 runs in 30 overs by losing 8 wickets.
