Kimamli KSK 182/5 in 20 overs (Shambhu 60, Nisargsinh 53, Yuvraj 2/37) defeated Valia Tigar RPL 154/8 in 20 overs (Divyajitsinh 55, Shradulsinh 27, Rathod Dharmendrasinh 3/24) by 28 runs
The seventh season of Rajputana Premier League concluded with Kimamli KSK trouncing Valia Tiger RPL by 28 runs in the final. The final was highly dominated by three players, Shambhu, Nisargsinh and Divyajitsinh.
The tournament lit the festive season across the city of Surat for over 18 days. 31 teams from across the city participated in the tournament and in the end; KKSK and Valia Tiger RPL topped them all to make it to the final showdown.
The final got on the way with the coin toss which landed in the favor of Kimamli KSK. They elected to bat first. Yuvraj lost his wicket early to his namesake but the other opener Nisargsinh enjoyed the beautiful batting conditions on the other end. He stitched down two useful partnerships of 53 and 63 with Rudra (24) and Shambhu respectively. These partnerships provided a solid base for the lower order batsmen to launch some rockets later in the inning, which they did.
Shambhu finished with a magnificent 60 off 36 with the help of 5 fours and 3 massive sixes. Along with some useful contributions from lower order batsmen like Yahspal (18), he led his team to 182 in allotted number of 20 overs. Yuvraj Kosamiya finished with the figures of 2/37 while Alpesh, Sandip and Yogesh chipped in with a wicket each.
The game was on for a tight finish when the Valia Tigers were cruising at 90 in the 10th over for the loss of just two. But a couple of quick wickets dented their chase. They managed to score only 36 between the 13th and the 17th over and that built some pressure on the scoreboard. The lower order failed to deal with it and they faltered in the chase.
Divyajitsinh scored a gritty 55 of 42 with the help of 4 fours and a six and his partnership with Rana (27) ensured that the viewers were interested in the game for a long time. The fight was on as long as these two were out in the middle. Unfortunately, they lacked explosion in the final overs and that lead to the disaster. Dharmendrasinh Rathod bowled the decisive spell for his team and finished with 3/24. Rudra complimented him pretty well and went back with 2 wickets at the expense of 18 runs. Shambhu Raulji was awarded man of the match for his spectacular display with the bat.
