Sunrise B.S. Enterprises 116/9 in 20 overs (Prashant 19, Dhruv 18, Aditya 2/11) lost to Kings Bharat Enterprises 119/3 in 19.1 overs (Yugank 36, Aviral 23, Akshay 23, Ritesh 2/25) by 11 wickets
The Devipatan Premier League concluded here at the Sports Stadium, Balrampur with a low scoring encounter between Sunrise B.S. Enterprises and Kings Bharat Enterprises. The tournament was contested between 8 teams split across two groups. All the teams played each other once before two teams from each group made it to the top four.
The game drew a lot of attention and why not. It was about to be contested between two top teams of the tournament. Both the teams topped their respective groups and that too, with a lot of authority. The toss landed in the favor of Sunrise B.S. Enterprises on the noon of the final and they elected to bat first.
The SBSE openers were steady until Prashant lost his patience in the seventh over but before him being bowled by Rajveer, he added 47 in the powerplays with Saurav. A few balls later, Rajveer was into the act again and he caught the other opener Saurav off the bowling of Aditya for 13. Skipper Rohit Verma and Dhruv Tomar added further 27 and that remained last partnership of substance. Once the pair was dismissed, the SBSE inning collapsed like a pack of cards and they were bowled out for 116. Bharat Enterprises tried 6 bowlers, most of them were successful. Aditya and Rajveer shared two wickets each.
KBE openers Akshay and Yugank added 67 at a steady pace. Ritesh removed Akshay in the 9th over for 23 but till then, more than half of the target was ticked off. Yugank suffered a blow in the 12th over and he had to retire hurt for 36. But these wickets could not build any pressure on the KBE batting lineup because they had almost nothing to chase. There was no pressure on the scoreboard at any given time. SBSE too used 6 bowlers just like their opposition but they have a total too low on board. Only Ritesh could manage a couple of wickets for them as KBE chased down the target at the beginning of the last over. Yugank was awarded man of the match for his clever bowling and brave display with the bat.
