Kacchavasa Royal XI 83/8 in 10 overs (Mahapragya Raj Singh 22, Dhananjay 16, Mahipal 2/12) lost to Bhadrakali XI Rayki 84/5 in 6.3 overs (Virendra Singh 37, Vikram Singh 14, Yuvraj Singh 2/6) by 5 wickets

What's so great about village cricket in India? Or maybe anywhere in the world? Most probably you would say things like unorthodox cricket and some belligerent batting off course? We actually love this spoilt brat format of the game. Ask the Aussies or even English. They all love the village cricket. The reason is simple. This is w here you get to see some raw talent.

So today we are talking about another one of such a village tournament that has got a name via cricherioes. Gone are the days when cricketers from B or C grade towns (and even remote villages) saw the mycricket website and wondered things like "Why don't we get to see our scorecards online?" Over 37000 people enjoyed the Vagad Kshatriya Samaj Cricket Tournament at the cricheroes. The kind of action this tournament threw at us, the numbers are going to increase for sure.

The Vagad Kshatriya Samaj Cricket Tournament saw 32 teams from across the small town of Vagad fight it out for the trophy. Since it was organized by the Kshatriya samaj, most of the players were from the Kshatriya community, but once they stepped out onto the field, they became Tendulkar, Sehwag, and even Glenn Maxwell.

The two finalists of the tournament were Kacchavasa Royal XI and Bhadrakali XI Rayki. Without a doubt, these two teams outperformed their rivals on the way. Gajendra Singh, the Bhadrakali XI skipper won the toss on the morning of the final and invited the opposition to have a bat first. In no time, their bowlers proved it to be the right decision by knocking out the top three KR XI batsman cheaply.

You don't expect big individual innings in a T-10 game (well, unless you are watching the T-10 league and Mohammad Shazad is smoking the bowler all across the park). That's what happened here too. A couple of decent innings from Mahapragya Raj Singh (22 not out off 20) and Dhananjay Singh (16 off 11) lead them to a healthy total of 83. Hemendra, Mahipal and Ray Singh shared 2 wickets each for the BKXIR.

Surendra was dismissed early in the chase but BKXIR found the match-winning partnership soon after. Virendra and Vikram added 51 at a blazing pace. The partnership came off just 16 balls and it didn't just destroy the confidence of bowlers, it crushed their hopes too. Most of the destruction was caused by Virendra who scored 37 off just 15 deliveries. All five sixes of him are still chasing the voyager, somewhere in the interstellar space.

By the time Virendra got out, BKXIR needed just 25 off 38 balls. Jaswant (12) guided his team past the total with ease. Virendra Singh was enjoyed his day with the man of the match trophy and off course, the bragging rights to be a king.
