AMIGOES 127/8 in 20 overs ( Nishu 39, Bharat Kumar 14, Suresh 2/11) lost to KARVY Finetech Pvt. Ltd 129/2 in 17.3 overs ( Mahender 47, Manoj 40 Nishanth 1/18) by 8 wickets
The second edition of One Champion tournament concluded with KARVY Finetech cruising to victory in a rather one sided game. Sponsored by AG Sports, the tournament consisted of 14 teams who went head to head in a round robin format (Or let’s say, semi round robin format) for over two Months. The Tournament began way back in June, a day ahead of iconic India vs Pakistan world cup clash.
AMIGOES and KARVY , the top two teams after two months of exciting cricket, made it to the finals. The Siri Malle Cricket Ground in Hyderabad was expecting a mouth-watering contest but unfortunately the game ended on a dull note instead. KARVY bowlers reduced AMIGOES to 15/3 in the third over after they won the toss and elected to bat first. Bharath and Gotham tried their best to rescue the inning but their efforts were cut short midway and by the end of 8th over, half of their batsmen were back in the hut.
Nishu (39 off 35) held the fort on one end as he saw wickets tumbling from other but his effort ensured that AMIGOES had a respectable yet below par score on total. Suresh Kumar chocked them in the middle overs with his intelligent bowling and he finished with figures of 2 for 11 in his 3 overs.
KARVY got off to a flying start via both the Reddys. Sai Kumar managed to knock out Sanjeev but only after some damage. A 78 run partnership between Mahender (47) and Manoj (40) nailed the game for KARVY way before the actual scorecard might tell you. The AMIGOES bowlers had no answer to the determined effort of the duo. Although Nishanth managed to pip out the other Reddy, only the formalities were left with KARVY just 5 away from their target.
