Chaudhary Cricket Academy 137/9 in 20 overs (Hasan 29, Ashish 26, Akash 3/23) lost to Veer Shaurya Cricket Academy (RSL) 142/6 in 16 overs (Girish 50, Hanish 37,Suhail 3/32) by 4 wickets
The first season of Rorkee Super League concluded with a dull game at Veer Shaurya Cricket Academy as the hosts swept apart the opposition in an one sided encounter at their home ground. The first season of RSL had 16 teams split across four groups with top two qualifying for the quarter finals. The toppers of group A and group B, Shaurya Cricket Academy and Chaudhary contested for the trophy, and the prize money of 21000 INR.
With a lot of damp weather around, the hosts won the toss and elected to field first. Chaudhary cricket academy got the double blow in the first four overs and they could manage only 25 runs from the powerplays. The 57 run partnership between Himanshu and Hasan were about to bail them out of the trouble but Manish dismissed both of them in a quick succession. CCA were in trouble once again.
Post the departure of Hasan and Himanshu, Ashish tried his best to stabilise the inning and guide CCA to a decent total but he did not get any support from the other end. The lower middle order could not survive the storm of VSCA bowlers and they could manage a paltry 137 in their 20 overs.
Despite a low first inning total, CCA still had expectations from their duo of Ashish and Suhail, the two of top five bowlers at the first season of RSL. Hasan got them off to a dream start as he got rid of Waseem on the very first ball but the joy for them was short-lived. Girish and Tomar counterattacked them and collected some quick runs. The blazing start meant they gunned down 71 runs in first 6 overs. Although the CCA bowlers managed a wickets or two in the middle overs, the target was too short for VSCA in the end. The pair of Hanish (37) and Vipin (21) guided them past the target which sealed the title , and a cash prize of 21000 for them.
