MCA U-16 Invitation League 2016-17 was organized between 23-May-17 to 24-Oct-17 at various cities of Maharashtra.
Out of 35 participant teams from different cities of Maharashtra, the final of this tournament was played between Kolhapur U16 and Verroc CA U16 at Verroc Cricket Academy, Pune on 23rd and 24th Oct’17.
Verroc CA U16 won the toss and elected to field. Batting first, Kolhapur U16 played a good innings. Team had a good batting line up and almost all the players contributed well. Highest scorer was Bajari Prathamesh with 82 runs. Team scored 290 runs at the end of first innings.
While replying, Verroc CA U16 had wonderful start with opening batsman Ekshinge Aditya (wk) scoring 106 runs. Team gave a good fight but failed to score at required pace and ended up scoring 262 runs after losing all the wickets. Bowling highlight of the innings was Shinde Atharva from Kolhapur U16, who took 4 important wickets in 12. 4 overs.
Match was drawn but Kolhapur U16 declared as winner on the basis of 1st innings lead.
Player of the match was Ekshinge Adiya (wk) from Verroc CA U16.
