SAIBABA XI 65/8 in 12 overs (Sugi 14, Kamlesh 10, Baba Safi Pathan 3/14) lost to PIRAMETER XI 66/4 in 9.3 overs (Pathik 24, Shakir 17, Anand 17, Suraj 3/12) by 6 wickets.
The 9th season of Gurukul Premier League did not get the final it deserved at the SGVP Cricket Ground, Ahmedabad as the Pirameter XI sealed the final with ease.
The Saibaba XI skipper, Suraj Bhadoriya elected to bat first after the coin landed in his favor. The Pirameter XI bowlers ensured upper hand for their team from the beginning. They removed the openers in no time. The innings never got going for the Saibaba XI as only two of their batsmen could reach double digits. Baba Khan (3/14) was the chief destroyer while Asish Agarkar and Jalal Patel chipped in with important breakthroughs too. In the era of massive bats and innovative strokes, 65 were too little of a target for the Pirameters XI and they got home comfortably. Although they had some hiccups in the start as they lost their top three batsmen within 3 overs and just 12 on the board, they had cool heads in the form for Pathik and Anand in the middle who guided the chase. Although Anand got out in the 8th over, Shakir and Pathik gunned down the target without much of a fuss.
