The much cherished tournament - PGVCL Inter Circle Cricket Tournament was organised between 2nd Oct’17 to 8th Oct’17 at Sir Bhavsinhji Cricket Club- Bhavnagar.
15 teams from various cities of Gujarat participated in the tournament. And the final of this tournament was played between Bhavnagar PG and Bhuj PGVCL on 8th Oct’17.
Bhavnagar PG won the toss and elected to bat. Proving their decision right, the team played a wonderful innings. Though they did not manage to score at a very good pace, almost all the players contributed well in final score. Team ended at 176 runs in 39.5 overs after losing all the wickets. Y C Chaudhary and Mehul Makwana were the highest scorers, who scored 36 and 29 runs respectively. N D Arya from Bhuj PGVCL bowled very well and took 4 wickets in 8 overs by giving 26 runs.
While chasing the target, Bhuj PGVCL had a good start. Opening batsman A H Sheth (wk) smashed 40 runs in 26 balls with 5 fours and 2 sixes. However, team failed to continue with the same pace and started to lose wickets at regular intervals. Bhavnagar PG showed wonderful fielding and bowling performance as the team managed to take all the wickets in 27 overs. Pick of the bowlers was Y C Chaudhary from Bhavnagar PG, who took 3 wickets in 5 overs by giving only 12 runs. Bhuj PGVCL collapsed at 111 runs.
Bhavnagar PG won the final of PGVCL Inter Circle Cricket Tournament with wide margin of 65 runs.
