One of the most celebrated tournaments of Rajkot- Patidar Premier League 2019 organized by Sant Shree Bhojalram Foundation was played between 28th Apr.’19 to 18th May’19.
Out of 64 participant teams, an all-important final of this highly followed tournament was played between Shreeji 11 A and Rising Star (PPL) on 18th May’19 at Jay Sardar Ground- Rajkot.
Electing to bat, Shreeji 11 A posted a competitive score of 120 runs at the end of 16 overs by losing 7 wickets. The major contributor was Gaurang Patel, who smashed 47 runs off 37 balls with 1 boundary and 4 sixes. Nimesh Patel too played well and added unbeaten 25 runs at a fast rate during crucial overs helping team reach at a good score. Pick of the bowlers was Jay Vadodariya from Rising Star (PPL), who picked 2 important wickets in 4 overs.
While replying, Rising Star (PPL) did not get a good start and wickets started to fall from early overs. The only player, who made it to 20’s was Jay Vadodariya with 25 runs. Rest of the players were restricted in single digits or 10’s resulted in early collapse of Rising Star (PPL). Team crumbled at the score of 82 runs in 14.3 overs. Bowling highlight of the innings was Bhavik Bhadani, who scalped 3 wickets in 3 overs damaging the batting line up of the opponent team majorly.
Shreeji 11 A registered a 38 run win over Rising Star (PPL) in the final of Patidar Premier League 2019.
Gaurang Patel from Shreeji 11 A was awarded as the player of the match for his outstanding contribution.
