Ganesh Cup (Minor) 2018-19 - organized by CBCA was played between 1st Oct.’18 to 14th May’19 at Ahmedabad.
Out of 102 participant teams, an all-important final of this much celebrated tournament was played between Khadia C C and Gomtipur Gymkhana on 14th May’19 at Sardar Patel Stadium- Ahmedabad.
Electing to bat, Khadia C C got a good start with opening batsman Anil Rao scoring 61 runs with 11 boundaries. However, the highest scorer was Bhavik Bhadani, who smashed 66 runs off 41 balls with 3 boundaries and 6 sixes. With most of the players contributing significantly, team posted a good score of 261 runs in 39.5 overs after losing all wickets. Pick of the bowlers was Kamlesh Garange from Gomtipur Gymkhana with 3 wickets.
While chasing, Gomtipur Gymkhana started at a good pace with Nainesh Bajrange scoring 34 runs off 30 balls with 6 boundaries. However, remaining players failed to stay strong against the strong bowling attack from Khadia C C and team started to lose wickets at regular intervals. None of the players went beyond 20’s and team bundled up at the score of 171 runs in 31 overs. Though all the bowlers of Khadia C C performed really well, the pick of the lot was Dipen Talati, who smashed 3 wickets in 7 overs giving only 22 runs.
All-round Khadia C C registered a glorious 90 run win over Gomtipur Gymkhana in the final of Ganesh Cup (Minor) 2018-19.
Bhavik Bhadani from Khadia C C was awarded as the player of the match for his outstanding contribution.
