First semi-final of Raipur Premier League Season -4 (RPL 4) was played on 3rd Oct’ 17 at University Ground- Raipur.
The match was played between two promising teams of the tournament - Terminator CA (RPL 4) and V.I.P. Cricket Academy (RPL 4).
Terminator CA (RPL 4) won the toss and elected to bat. Team got a good start with both the opening batsmen scoring at a good pace. Shashank Chandrakar played a great innings by scoring 75 runs in 66 balls hitting five 4’s and four 6’s. Players continued to add to the score steadily. However, V.I.P. Cricket Academy (RPL 4) managed to take wickets at a regular interval and Terminator CA (RPL 4) lost all wickets in 37.5 wickets after scoring 228 runs. Bowling highlight of the innings was Animesh (bunty) Sharma from V.I.P. Cricket Academy (RPL 4), who took 3 wickets in 8 overs by giving 32 runs with 2 maiden overs.
While chasing the target, V.I.P. Cricket Academy (RPL 4) did not get a good start. Team lost a few important wickets in early overs. However, remaining players performed extremely well, which helped team to reach the target easily. Jitendra Gupta (wk) was the highest scorer, who smashed 80 runs in 75 balls. Animesh (bunty) Sharma shined again with his wonderful batting performance. He scored 72 runs in 94 balls and remained not out. V. I. P. Cricket Academy (RPL 4) achieved the target in 38.5 overs.
