HKD KAPOOR T-20 KNOCK-OUT CRICKET TOURNAMENT-2019 was played between 1st Apr.’19 to 27th Apr.’19 at Ahmedabad.
32 teams from various verticals participated in this highly followed tournament from which, the crucial final was played between Railway Institute KKF and Chhara C.C. on 27th Apr.’19 at Maninagar Railway Cricket Ground- Ahmedabad.
Railway Institute KKF chose to bat after winning the toss. Despite losing their 1st wicket very early, team managed to post a big score of 156 runs in 20 overs by losing 5 wickets. The key contributor was Mrunal Devdhar, who smashed 45 runs off 34 balls with 7 boundaries and 1 six giving team a great start. RaxleeTaylor too played a very good innings and added unbeaten 36 runs putting team to the driver’s seat. With most of the players contributing well, team set-up a good score for the final clash. None of the bowlers from Chhara C.C. managed to restrict the run-flow of Railway Institute KKF, however, Nilesh Garange succeeded in picking up 2 important wickets.
While chasing, Chhara C.C. failed terribly with most of the players being dismissed in single digits. The highest scorer was Echal Bhogekar, who made 23 runs. The only other player, who reach upto double digit score was Kamalesh Garange with 11 runs. The chief wrecker was Swapnil Patel from Railway Institute KKF, who scalped 4 wickets in 4 overs damaging the batting line up of Chhara C.C. badly. Vijay Gadhvi too chipped with 2 more wicket rattling the rival’s boat completely. Chhara C.C. collapsed at a meager score of 69 runs in 16.4 overs.
