35 teams from various verticals participated in this much celebrated tournament from which, an all-important final was played between Karanj CC A and Umarwada CC A on 22nd Apr.’19 at Mota Bobat Sheth Cricket Ground - Mota Miya Mangrol.
Electing to bat, Karanj CC A started well with opening batsman Yogesh Patel scoring 21 runs off 21 balls with 5 boundaries. M Sohel supported him well from the other end, who added useful 23 runs at a fast rate. Highest scorer was Arif Hanslod with 25 runs in 17 balls including 2 boundaries and 2 sixes. Team posted a reasonable score of 136 at the end of 20 overs by losing 8 wickets. Bowling highlight of the innings was Sajid Gangat, who scalped 3 wickets in 4 overs giving only 5 run. Aslam Mulla too chipped in with 2 important wickets restricting the opponent from putting up a big score.
While replying, Umarwada CC A managed to chase down the target in just 17.4 overs without much struggle. Major contributor was Asif Shaikh, who smashed unbeaten 40 runs off 28 balls with 3 boundaries and 3 sixes. Captain Azher Gangat and Mohsin Pathan too played good innings and added 29 and 22 runs respectively helping team reach the score of 137 runs in 17.4 overs with the loss of 5 wickets.
Umarwada CC A won the final of Mangrol Mota Bobat Seth T-20 League -2 2018-19 by 5 wickets against Karanj CC A.
Asif Shaikh from Umarwada CC A was awarded as the player of the match for his all-round performance.
