RBS Cricket Championship 2018-19 was organized between 16th Feb.’19 to 20th Apr.’19 at Gurgaon.
Held at The Ball Park- Gurgaon, an all-important final of this much cherished tournament was played between FHI and NMW Red on 20th Apr.’19.
Electing to bat, FHI posted a competitive score of 139 runs at the end of 20 overs by losing 9 wickets. The key contributor was Injo Navish, who smashed 55 runs off 38 balls with 3 boundaries and 3 sixes. Though the other players failed to prove their mettle and majority of them were dismissed below 10 runs, which restricted team from putting up a big score for the final clash. Most of the bowlers of NWM Red performed really well, however, pick of the lot was Raman Madaan with 3 important wickets.
While chasing, NWM Red started well with opening batsman RBS Munish Chander scoring 25 runs at fast rate. He was supported well from the other end by Amit Wadhwa, who made highest 60 runs in just 38 balls with 7 boundaries and 2 sixes putting team at a driver’s position. It was followed by a good innings by RBS Atul Mehta, whose unbeaten 32 led team straight towards the final win. NWM Red reached the score of 143 runs in 17 runs with the loss of 3 wickets.
NWM Red registered an easy 7 wicket win over FHI in the final of RBS Cricket Championship 2018-19.
Amit Wadhwa from NWM Red was awarded as the player of the match for his excellent performance.
