The first match of Surat District Cricket Association (Elite Group) was played between Surat Sports Club (SDCA) and Bhatha XI (SDCA) on 1st Oct’17 at Lalbhai Contractor Stadium - Surat.
Surat Sports Club (SDCA) won the toss and elected to bat. Proving their decision right, the team played a wonderful innings. Almost all the players added to the score steadily and they reached to the score of 277 runs in 50 overs after losing 6 wickets. Highest scorer was Hemraj Vasia, who scored 69 runs in 56 ball hitting nine 4’s.
While chasing the target of 278 runs, Batha XI (SDCA) started to fumble from early overs. Surat Sports Club (SDCA) continued to perform well as they managed to take wickets at regular intervals. Bhatha XI (SDCA) players did not get chance to score freely and the team collapsed scoring 112 runs in 42 overs. Shailesh Ishwarbhai Patel was the highest scorer with 34 runs. Hemraj Vasia from Surat Sports Club (SDCA) shined again by taking 5 wickets in 6 overs by giving only 15 runs.
Surat Sports Club (SDCA) won the match against Bhatha XI (SDCA) with huge margin of 165 runs.
