Corporate Cricket League Season 5 is being organized between 24th Feb.’19 to 14th Apr.’19 at Gurgaon.
8 teams from different corporates participated in this much cherished tournament from which, the crucial final was played between 2 strongest teams of the tournament- RedTape and Gurgaon Super Strikers on 13th Apr.’19 at The Backyard Cricket Field - Gurgaon.
Electing to bat, RedTape played a wonderful innings with most of the players contributing significantly for the final score. Though they lost their 1st wicket on the very 1st ball of the match, team managed it extremely well and put up a big score of 178 runs at the end of 20 overs by losing 5 wickets. The strong partnership between Dheeraj Kumar (25) and Tarun (60) put team to a driver’s position from the very beginning. It was followed by a very good innings from Harinder, who scored unbeaten 46 runs off 28 balls with 1 boundary and 4 sixes. Pick of the bowlers was Raj from Gurgaon Super Strikers, who picked 2 important wickets in 4 overs.
While chasing, Gurgaon Super Strikers too gave a very good fight till the end. Team started well with opening batsman Vimal scoring 30 runs at a fast rate. He was supported well from the other end by NR, who made 91 runs in 54 balls with 13 boundaries and 1 six helping team reach at a strong position. However, remaining players failed to maintain the pace and team fell short of 15 runs and closed the innings at the score of 163 runs in 20 overs with the loss of 2 wickets.
RedTape won the final of Corporate Cricket League Season 5 by 15 runs against Gurgaon Super Strikers.
Tarun from RedTape was awarded as the player of the match for his excellent contribution.
