WADAGAM CRICKET LEAGUE 2018-19 was organized between 16th Dec.’19 to 12th Apr.’19 at Navsari.
18 teams from various verticals participated in this much cherished tournament from which, the crucial final was played between Asna XI and Fahad XI Baleshwar on 12th Apr.’19 at Navsari.
Electing to bat, Aasna XI did not get a very good start and lost some important wickets in early overs. However, Ahmed Hafeji, who came to bat on 5th position played a very good innings and smashed 63 runs off 45 balls with 6 boundaries and 4 sixes. The other players failed to score at the same rate and majority of the players were restricted in single digit scores. Aasna XI collapsed at the score of 150 runs in 19.4 overs. Pick of the bowlers was Fesal Dery from Fahad XI Baleshwar, who scalped 4 wickets in 4 overs. Parvez Musa too chipped in with 3 important wickets, which restricted Aasna XI from putting up a big score.
While chasing, despite facing some early blows Fahad XI Baleshwar managed to reach the target in 16.4 overs by losing 5 wickets. The key contributor was Vajid Pathan, who scored unbeaten 66 runs off 40 balls with 9 boundaries and 3 sixes. He was supported well by Munir Paliwala from the other end, who added useful 40 runs at fast rate helping team reach the final score of 151 runs without much hassle. Bowling highlight of the innings was Suli Patel from Asna XI, who picked 4 important wickets in 4 overs.
Fahad XI Baleshwar registered a five wicket win over Asna XI in the final of Wadagam Cricket League 2018-19.
Vajid Pathan from Fahad XI Baleshwar was awarded as the player of the match for his significant contribution.
