One of the most prestigious tournaments of Jharkhand State Cricket Association- JSCA Inter District Under 16 Elite Tournament 2018-19 was organized between 6th Apr.’10 to 12th Apr.’19 at Ranchi.
Out of 8 participant teams, an all-important final of this highly followed tournament was played between Bokaro and Simdega on 12th Apr.’19 at JSCA International Stadium Main Ground- Ranchi.
Electing to bat, Bokaro started well with opening batsman Sahil Raj scoring 50 runs at stable pace. The other major contributor was Rishav Kumar, who scored 36 runs off 38 balls with 3 boundaries. However, remaining players failed to prove their mettle and team crumbled at a low score of 166 runs in 49.3 overs. Pick of the bowlers was Himanshu Dwivedi from Simdega, who took 2 wickets in 10 overs giving only 28 runs.
While replying, despite losing few important wickets in early overs Simdega achieved the target of 167 runs in 39.3 overs with the loss of 7 wickets. Captain Himanshu Dwivedi played an outstanding innings and remained unbeaten at 80 runs leading team towards the final victory. Shahib Rizvi and Prashant Rai too played an important role as they added 30 runs respectively helping team reaching at the final score without any struggle. Bowling highlight of the innings was Suraj Nayak from Bokaro, who scalped 4 important wickets in 10 overs giving only 25 runs.
Simdega posted a 3 wicket win over Bokaro in the final of JSCA Inter District Under 16 Elite Tournament 2018-19.
Himanshu Dwivedi form Simdega was awarded as the player of the match for his all-round show.
