Corporate Cricket League Season 5, which is started from 24th Feb.’19 at Noida has reached to its final phase, where the top 4 teams are fighting to book their spot for the upcoming final on 14th Apr.’19.
The first semi-final of this much cherished tournament was played between RedTape and Bureau Veritas Team in the first half on 7th Apr.’19 at NCA Club, Greater Noida.
Bureau Veritas Team won the toss and opted to field. Batting first, RedTape played a wonderful innings and posted a big score of 201 runs in 20 overs by losing 8 wickets. The major contributor was Tarun, who performed exceptionally well as he smashed 104 runs in just 39 balls with 7 boundaries and 10 sixes putting RedTape at driver’s position. None of the bowlers from Bureau Veritas Team managed to restrict the run-flow of RedTape, however, Avinash Datyal and Pradeep Kumar succeeded in picking up 2 wickets each.
While replying, Bureau Veritas Team started well with Piyush Singh scoring 31 runs off 25 balls with 5 boundaries. Avinash Rana and Amit Rohilla scored well and added useful 43 and 47 runs respectively at fast rate. However, after Amit Rohilla’s dismissal, none of the players managed to score in double digits and team crumbled at the score of 167 runs in 19.3 overs. Bowling highlight of the innings was Dheeraj Kumar from RedTape with 3 wickets.
RedTape won the match by 34 runs against Bureau Veritas Team and became the 1st team to qualify for the final.
Tarun from RedTape was awarded as the player for the match for his outstanding performance.
