SBI 5th JKP Trophy State Prize Money Cricket Tournament 2019 was organized between 2nd Apr.’19 to 8th Apr.’19 at Lucknow.
Out of 10 participant teams, an all-important final was played between Meerut District Cricket Association and Wonders Club Ghaziabad on 8th Apr.’19 at BRSABV Ekana International Cricket Stadium, Lucknow.
Wonders Club Ghaziabad won the toss and chose to bowl first. Batting first, Meerut District Cricket Association scored 173 runs in 37.4 overs after losing all the wickets. Highest scorer was Madhav P Singh, who made 31 runs off 38 balls. Remaining players too contributed significantly for the final score. Despite losing wickets at regular intervals, team managed to put up a reasonable score of 173 runs. Pick of the bowlers was Mangesh Yadav from Wonders Club Ghaziabad with 3 wickets.
While replying, Wonders Club Ghaziabad got a good start with both opening batsmen Parth Jain and Raja Khan scoring 28 and 23 runs respectively at stable pace. Rahul Chopra and Harshit Sethi too played good innings and added useful 33 and 41 runs respectively helping team reach at a strong position. However, after Harshit Sethi’s dismissal, team went through a dramatic collapse and ended up losing all the wickets in 169 runs in 37.3 overs. The chief wrecker was Sameer Chaudhary from Meerut District Cricket Association, who scalped 3 wickets in 8 overs giving only 26 runs. Madhav P Singh too chipped in with 3 more wickets damaging the batting line up of Wonders Club Ghaziabad badly.
Meerut District Cricket Association won the nail-biting final by 4 runs against Wonders Club Ghaziabad.
Madhav P Singh from Meerut District Cricket Association was awarded as the player of the match for his all-round performance.
