UCC 3.0 2019 was organized between 16th Feb.’19 to 7th Apr.’19 at Bengaluru.
14 teams from various verticals participated in this much cherished tournament from which, an all-important final was played between Rising Star Twelve and Falcons XI Cricket Club on 7th Apr.’19 at Gopalan Sports Academy- Ground A- Bengaluru.
Electing to bat, Rising Star Twelve did not get a very good start as team started to lose wickets from early overs. However, Captain Abhiraj and Shiyas Rasi played a good innings and added useful 21 and 29 runs respectively giving much needed boost to the score. Though remaining players failed to perform and majority of them were restricted within 10’s and Rising Star Twelve posted a reasonable score of 109 runs at the end of 20 overs by losing 8 wickets. Almost all the bowlers of Falcon XI Cricket Club bowled really well, however, pick of the lot was Abid, who scalped 3 important wickets in 4 overs.
While chasing, Falcon XI Cricket Club played a very good innings and chased down the target in just 12.4 overs by losing 2 wickets. Opening batsman Manoj Puttaraj was the highest scorer, who smashed unbeaten 45 runs off 31 balls with 3 boundaries and 3 sixes. He was supported well by Harsha from the other end, who added 28 runs at fast rate taking team close the final score. It was followed by strong innings by Fahed Abousher with unbeaten 27 runs, which took team straight to the victory.
Falcons XI Cricket Club registered a glorious 8 wicket win over Rising Star Twelve in the final of UCC 3.0 2019.
