S Balan T-20 Trophy 2019 - organized by Stadium Cricket Club was played between 1st Feb.’19 to 4th Apr.’19 at Pune.
Out of 16 participant teams, an all-important final was played between Poona Club Pvt. Ltd and Sunny XI C.C. on 4th Apr.’19 at Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium-Pune.
Electing to bat, Poona Club Pvt Ltd has an excellent start with both the opening batsmen, Yash Nahar and Hrishikesh Motkar smashing 47 and 28 runs respectively at fast rate. Deepak too contributed well as he scored 24 runs off 24 balls with 1 boundary. With most of the players contributing significantly, Poona Club Pvt Ltd. posted a very good score of 160 runs at the end of 20 overs by losing 7 wickets. Pick of the bowlers was Kothari Shubham from Sunny XI C.C., who scalped 4 wickets in 4 overs giving only 11 runs.
While replying, Sunny XI C.C. started to fumble from early overs as they lost some important wickets in early overs. Damle Rohan’s quick 44 was the only saving grace for the team as all the remaining players were dismissed in single digit scores. Rajkamal Chauhan from Poona Club Pvt. Ltd. bowled extremely well and picked 4 important wickets in 4 overs damaging the batting line up of Sunny XI C.C from the very beginning. Pardeshi Dhanraj too chipped in with 3 more wickets rattling the rival’s boat completely. Sunny XI C.C crumbled at the score of 97 runs in 17 overs.
Poona Club Pvt. Ltd posted a glorious 63 run win over Sunny XI C. C in the final of S Balan T-20 Trophy 2019.
Rajkamal Chauhan from Poona Club Pvt Ltd was awarded as the player of the match for his significant contribution.
