25th DGP Cup Cricket Oneday Tournament 2019 - organized by DGP Of Gujarat was played between 2nd Feb.’19 to 1st Apr.’19 at various cities of Gujarat.
16 teams from different cities participated in this prestigious tournament from which, an all-important final was played between Vadodara Range and SRP XI on 31st Mar.’19 at SGVP Cricket Ground- Ahmedabad.
Batting first, Vadodara Range played an excellent innings and posted a huge score of 316 runs in 49.4 overs losing all the wickets. Captain Priyank Baranda gave team a wonderful start as he scored 75 runs off 69 balls with 9 boundaries. Batuk Raval supported him well from the other end as he added useful 50 runs at fast rate putting team in the commanding position. Most of the players contributed significantly helping team put up a big target for the final clash. None of the bowlers from SRP XI managed to restrict the run-flow of Vadodara Range, however, the pick of the bowlers was Gauravsinh Thakur, who managed to pick 2 important wickets.
While replying, opening batsman Akil Sheikh gave SRP XI a good start as he smashed 61 runs off 47 balls with 7 boundaries and 3 sixes. However, he failed to get support from the other end and team started to lose wickets from early overs. Remaining players did not manage to go beyond 20’s against the strong bowling attack from Vadodara Range and team crumbled at the score of 193 runs in 36.3 overs. Almost all the bowlers of Vadodara Range contributed really well, but the pick of the lot was Dilipsinh Mahida, who picked 2 crucial wickets in 6 overs.
Vadodara Range posted a glorious 123 run win over SRP XI in the final of 25th DGP Cup Cricket Oneday Tournament 2019.
Priyank Baranda from Vadodara Range was awarded as the player of the match for his impressive performance.
