Acharya Premier League- 5, organized by Acharya Institutes was played between 16th Mar.’19 to 23rd Mar.’19 at Bengaluru.
Out of 12 participant teams, an all-important final of this highly followed tournament was played between Team Mech Hawks 2019 and Master Minds 2019 on 23rd Mar.’19 at Smt. Nagaratnama Stadium, Bengaluru.
Electing to bat, Team Mech Hawks 2019 started well with opening batsman Kiran Kumar. M scoring 16 runs off 5 balls with 1 boundary and 2 sixes, however, the highest scorer was Prashanth K P, who scored unbeaten 41 runs in 22 balls taking team to a stable position. Team posted a reasonable score of 94 runs at the end of 10 overs by losing 6 wickets. Pick of the bowlers was Poojari Nithin Basava from Master Minds 2019, who picked 2 wickets 2 overs.
While chasing, despite losing wickets at regular intervals, Master Minds 2019 managed to achieve the target in 8.3 overs with the loss of 5 wickets. The key contributor was Mustaq, whose timely 31 off 13 balls helped team reach the target without much hassle. The other contributors were Manjunath M A and Syed Hidayath, who added 20 and 17 runs respectively at fast rate.
