One of the most cherished tournaments of Chhatisgarh - RPL -5 RAIPUR PREMIERE LEAGUE SEASON -5 2018 was organized between 27th Jul.’18 to 24th Mar.’19 at Raipur.
Out of 18 participant teams, an all-important final was played between Terminator Cricket Academy Senior and Forest on 24th Mar.’19 at Hira- Raipur.
Forest elected to bowl first after winning the toss. Proving their decision right, they managed to take wickets of Terminator Cricket Academy Senior at regular intervals, restricting them from putting up a big score. Shashank Chandrakar started well as he smashed 30 runs off 19 balls with 5 boundaries and 1 six. The other major contributors were Akash Chandrasen and Avinash Rai, who added 27 each helping team reach at a decent score. However, other players failed terribly and team collapsed in 25.2 overs making 133 runs. The chief wrecker was Puhup Singh from Forest, who scalped 4 wickets in 3.2 overs giving only 11 runs. Vipin Singh and Abhishek Tamrakar too bowled well and picked 3 and 2 wickets respectively damaging the batting line up of Terminator Cricket Academy completely.
While chasing, despite facing an early blow in the form of Abhishek Tamrakar, Forest managed to achieve the target in just 21.4 overs. Abhishek Jain was the highest scorer, who scored 41 runs off 43 balls which took team to a stable position. He was supported well by Chandrashekhar from the other end, who added useful 31 runs with 5 boundaries. With most of the players contributing significantly, team managed to reach the score of 134 runs in 21.4 overs by losing 5 wickets without much struggle. Pick of the bowlers was Prashant Singh from Terminator Cricket Academy Senior with 3 wickets.
