One of the most prestigious tournaments of Punjab- 7th LATE PROF RAJPREET SINGH T20 TOURNAMENT 2019 started on 21st Mar.’19 at Mansa.
16 teams from various cities are participating in this much cherished tournament from which, an interesting match was played between Rajpoot Club Dehradun and Bathinda Spartans on 23rd Mar.’19.
Opting to bat first, Rajpoot Club Dehradun put up a mammoth score of 317 runs in 20 overs with the loss of 2 wickets. The major contributor here was Mayank Rawat- a cricketer of Delhi State and player for India U-19, who single handedly posted a huge score of 201 runs in just 67 balls with 18 boundaries and 18 sixes. Aman and Gurtej Bhura too performed really well and added 61 and 45 runs respectively at a fast pace, which helped team reach at an enormous target of 317 runs.
While chasing, Bathinda Spartans failed to get a good start and lost few important wickets in the early overs. Most of the players failed to score well against the strong bowling attack from Rajpoot Club Dehradun and were dismissed in single digit scores. Highest scorers were Moni and Kabal Singh, who scored 30 and 22 runs respectively. Since most of the players did not manage to prove their mettle, team crumbled at the score of 102 runs in 16.1 overs. Bowling highlight of the innings was Bhagvinder Lathar, who scalped 3 wickets in 2.1 overs giving only 6 runs.
Rajpoot Club Dehradun posted a massive 215 run win against Bathinda Spartans.
Mayank Rawat from Rajpoot Club Dehradun was awarded as the player of the match for his outstanding contribution.
