Star Medico Championship 2019 was organized between 10th Feb.’19 to 10th Mar.’19 at Ahmedabad.
Out of 8 participant teams, an all-important final of this highly followed tournament was played between KD Kings and Medicore Masters on 10th Mar.’19 at Adani Shantigram-Ahmedabad.
Electing to bat, KD Kings had a very good start with both the opening batsmen Dr Jignesh Kalariya and Naman Patel smashing 49 and 55 runs respectively at a fast rate, which took team to a very strong position. However, other players failed to score at the same pace and team ended up scoring 140 runs at the end of 15 runs by losing 7 wickets.
While chasing, Medicore Masters did not get a good start and lost some important wickets in early overs. However, Dr Arun, who came to bat on 5th position played a wonderful innings and added useful 39 runs off 37 balls with 3 boundaries and 1 six giving much needed boost to the team. However, he failed to get support from the other end and team ended up scoring 83 runs at the end of 15 overs with the loss of 6 wickets. Pick of the bowlers were Dr Jignesh Kalariya and Tushar from KD Kings, who scalped 2 wickets each restricting the opponent from scoring well.
KD Kings registered an easy 57 run win over Medicore Masters in the final Star Medico Championship 2019.
Dr Jignesh Kalariya from KD Kings was awarded as the player of the match for his all-round contribution.
