GEPL 2019 was organized between 31st Jan.’19 to 6th Mar.’19 at Pune.
70 teams from various verticals participated in this much cherished tournament from which, the crucial final was played between Team Shivaji and Game Changers on 6th Mar.’19 at Chakan Ground- Pune.
Electing to bat, Team Shivaji posted a competitive score of 115 runs in 12 overs with the loss of 7 wickets. Highest scorers were Aditya Bharadwaj and Bibhuti Mishra with 33 and 20 runs respectively. Pick of the bowlers was Supriya Chougule from Game Changers, who picked 2 wickets in 1 over.
While replying, despite losing some important wickets in early overs Game Changes achieved the target in just 10 overs by losing 2 wickets. The key contributor was Captain Vilas Kharpude, who smashed unbeaten 56 runs off 27 balls with 2 boundaries and 5 sixes taking team straight to the final win. He was supported well by Vijay Rathod from the other end, who added useful 24 runs at fast rate.
Game Changers registered an easy 8 wicket win over Team Shivaji in the final of GEPL 2019.
Vilas Kharpude from Game Changes was awarded as the player of the match for his outstanding contribution.
Team Aviators managed to secure 3rd position in the tournament.
