An interesting match was played between Srikakulam U-14 and Visakhapatnam U-14 at KORM College Ground, Kadapa.
Visakhapatnam U-14 won the toss and elected to field. Team bowled extremely well and managed to restrict the opponent at a low score. Srikakulam did not get a very good start and the wickets started to fall from the early overs. Highest scorer was V.Ganesh, who scored 61 runs. The other players did not manage to reach to a very good score. G. Sai Surya’s outstanding bowling was the main reason of Srikakulam’s early collapse. He took 5 important wickets and Srikakulam ended up scoring 198 runs after losing all wickets at the end of first innings.
While replying, Visakhapatnam U-14 played very well. With all the players adding to the score steadily, the team reached to 265 runs at the end of their first innings. Highest scorers were S Sri Vardhan and T. Jatin, who added 51 and 46 runs respectively.
During the 2nd innings, Srikakulam started to fumble from the beginning. None of the players managed to score well against attacking bowling of Visakhapatnam U-14. G. Sai Surya stole the show again with 6 wickets in the 2nd innings. At the end of the day, Srikakulam was at 121 runs after losing 9 wickets.
The match was drawn but Visakhapatnam U-14 won on 1st innings lead.
