Avishkar Big Bash League 2019 -organized between 13th Jan.’19 to 3rd Mar.’19 at Mumbai.
Out of the 8 participant teams, the crucial final was played between Rising Rita and Star Plus Strikers on 3rd Mar.’19 at Wilson Gymkhana- Mumbai.
Electing to bat, Rising Rita get a wonderful start with both opening batsmen Pratham Gala and Harshul Nandu scoring 40 and 24 runs respectively at fast rate. The other major contributor was Pavan Rita, who smashed 49 runs off 28 balls with 8 boundaries and 1 six. Team posted a good score of 173 runs at the end of 20 overs by losing 8 wickets. Bowling highlight of the innings was Monish Shah from Star Plus Strikers, who scalped 5 wickets 4 overs.
While chasing, Star Plus Strikers failed to get a good start and lost some important wickets in early overs. However, Harshit Mota, who came to bat on 4th position played a good innings and added useful 33 runs in 23 overs giving team the much needed boost. He was supported well from the other end by Rajat Satra, who scored 40 runs in 30 balls with 6 boundaries and 1 six. Kaushal Nisar too played a good innings and added 28 runs in 19 balls during crucial overs. Despite trying really well, team went on losing wickets at regular intervals, which reduced their pace and they ended up scoring 143 runs in 19.1 overs after losing all the wickets. Pick of the bowlers were Mehul Nandu and Harshal Nandu from Rising Rita, who picked 2 wickets each damaging the batting line up of Star Plus Strikers restricting them from reaching at the target.
Rising Rita registered a 30 run win over Star Plus Strikers in the final of Avishkar Big Bash 2018.
Harshul Nandu from Rising Rita was awarded as the player of the match for his all-round performance.
