DIAMOND TROPHY SEASON -2 2019, organized by Adarsh Pratishthan & Diamond Cricket Club was played between 10th Feb.’19 to 22nd Feb.’19 at Solapur.
58 teams from various verticals participated in this highly followed tournament from which, the crucial final was played between Adarsh CC and Diamond A on 22nd Feb.’19 at Shasakiya Maidan- Nehru Nagar-Solapur.
Diamond A won the toss and elected to bowl first. Batting first, Adarsh CC posted a competitive score of 63 runs in 7 overs with the loss of 3 wickets. Major contributor was Rahul Rawat, who smashed 31 runs off 14 balls with 3 boundaries and 2 sixes. Pick of the bowlers was Vinit Mehada from Diamond A, who picked 2 wickets in 2 overs giving only 6 runs.
While chasing, despite of losing few early wickets Diamond A managed to chase down the target in just 6.5 overs by losing 7 wickets. Team had a poor start and at one point of time match was completely in favour of Adarsh CC as Diamond A was at the score of 33 runs after losing 5 wickets within 3 overs. However, match took a dramatic turn when Krushna Pawar, who came to bat on 7th position took charges of the situation and single handedly led team towards final win by smashing unbeaten 45 runs off 17 balls including 1 boundary and 6 sixes.
