Shahapur Premier League (SPL) 2018- organized by Mounesh Natekar & MCC Group was played between 20th Jan.’19 to 17th Feb.’19 at Shahapur.
Held at Degree College Ground Shahapur, the crucial final of this heavily followed tournament was played between S G S Group and Sunrise Srinivas CC on 17th Feb.’19.
Opting to bat first, S G S Group played at a very good strike rate and posted a good score of 84 runs in 10 overs by losing 6 wickets. Key contributors were Avinash V and Raju Halisagar, who smashed 28 and 20 runs respectively at fast pace. Other players too contributed well in putting up a competitive score for the final clash. Pick of the bowlers was Abdul Rakheeb from Sunrise Srinivas CC, who took 3 important wickets in 3 overs.
While chasing, Sunrise Srinivas CC too gave a very good fight till the last over. Highest scorer was Maruti, who smashed 24 runs off 17 balls with 1 boundary and 2 sixes. Rest of the players too tried really well but team went on losing wickets at regular intervals, which reduced their pace and they fell short of just 3 runs from reaching at the target. Sunrise Srinivas CC ended up scoring 81 runs at the end of 10 overs after losing all the wickets.
The nail-biting final of Shahapur Premier League (SPL) 2018 went in favour of S G S Group as they managed to post a 3 run win over Sunrise Srinivas CC.
Raju Halisagar from S G S Group was awarded as the player of the match for his significant contribution.
