MB Sports Club League Match Tournament 2018-19 was played between 11th Nov.’19 to 17th Feb.’19 at Surat.
64 teams from different cities participated in this much cherished tournament from which, an all-important final was played between Kosamdi B Zuber Tavij and Hathoda (Bindas XI) on 17th Feb.’19 at MB Sports Ground Damrod- Surat.
Electing to bat, Kosamdi B Zuber Tavij did not manage to get a good start and lost some important wickets in early overs. Zahir Patel was the only player, who managed to score reasonably as he scored 36 runs off 41 balls with 4 boundaries and 1 six. However, most of the players failed to stay strong against effective bowling attack from Hathoda (Bindas XI) and were restricted in single digits. Team crumbled at the score of 110 runs in 20 overs. Almost all the bowlers from Hathoda (Bindas XI) performed extremely well, but the pick of lot was Azrudin Amodwala, who scalped 4 wickets in 3 overs. Sabir Mogal too contributed well by picking up 3 important wickets 4 overs, which dismantle Kosamdi B Zuber Tavij completely.
While replying, despite facing an early blow in the form of opening batsman Azrudin Amodwala, managed to achieve the target in 19 overs without much struggle. The highest contributor was Sabir Mogal, who scored 45 runs in 44 balls that took team very close to the target. He was supported well by Asif Baji from the other end, who added 25 runs at stable pace leading team towards final win. With most of the players contributing significantly, team scored 114 runs in 19 overs by losing 4 wickets.
Hathoda (Bindas XI) registered a 6 wicket win over Kosamdi B Zuber Tavij in the final of MB Sports Club League Match Tournament 2018-19.
Sabir Mogal from Hathoda (Bindas XI) was awarded as the player of the match for his all-round performance.
